Senior Alumni Taverner Non-Traditional Scholarship

Becoming a nurse has been the most important task of my life. Funds that have come from the generosity of the Senior Alumni have been instrumental in achieving my goals of earning a degree and taking care of my family.”

Eva Quirion is a non-traditional student who has pursued a degree in Nursing. She grew up in the greater Bangor, Maine area, graduating from high school in 1986. Prior to going back to school Eva worked as a shoe store manager, a mortgage loan processor and an administrative assistant. She has two daughters and has been married for 15 years. Going back to college at a later point in life requires significant sacrifice, and having the support of the Senior Alumni Taverner Non-Traditional Scholarship has made a big difference for Eva.

The Senior Alumni Taverner Non-Traditional Scholarship is awarded every year by the University of Maine Senior Alumni. The Senior Alumni is comprised of alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago from the University of Maine.
