Charles F. Allen Recognition Luncheon held September 23, 2011
The Charles F. Allen Society was established in 1995 to recognize alumni and friends who share their intent to support the University of Maine through their will or other form of planned or deferred gift. Every other year, the University and its partners, the University of Maine Foundation, University of Maine Alumni Association, Maine State 4-H Foundation and Pulp and Paper Foundation, host a luncheon to recognize and thank these members. This year, UMaine's 19th President, Paul Ferguson, welcomed Charles F. Allen Society members and friends at the luncheon held on Friday, September 23, 2011 in the McIntire Room of Buchanan Alumni House on the Orono campus. Edward Keefe '86, Charles F. Allen Society member, was the guest speaker along with Heather LeDoux, a scholarship recipient. Following the program, guests enjoyed a performance by the Maine Steiners. Three of the newest Charles F. Allen Society members are pictured above with President/CEO Amos E. Orcutt. They are Irv Marsters, Judith McCollum, and Mike Trainor. This year, a special highlight at the luncheon was the opportunity for guests to win tickets to My Fair Lady, scheduled to be performed at the Collins Center for the Arts on Sunday, October 9. Following the luncheon, the Hudson Museum, Page Farm and Home Museum, Jordan Planetarium, Lord Hall Art Gallery, and Advanced Structures and Composites Center were available for Charles F. Allen Society members to visit/tour. If you would like to know more about how you can become a member of the Charles F.
