Thursday Club Holds Annual Luncheon

The Thursday Club held its annual Luncheon on May 8, 2008 at Buchanan Alumni House. More than fifty members attended. The organization began in 1911 as an organization of women members of the University faculty and wives of faculty members. One of the Club's objectives is to promote acquaintance and mutual helpfulness among its members. For several years, the Thursday Club has awarded annual scholarships for nontraditional students through the Thursday Club Scholarship Fund, which is endowed at the Foundation.

Next year, the Club will be awarding $1,000 in scholarship aid to deserving recipients. The Club has been meeting for 97 years and continues to perpetuate the name and spirit of Thursday Club--women helping women.
