Mark W. Anderson ’80G

Mark Anderson

Mark Anderson is currently undergraduate coordinator of the Ecology and Environmental Sciences program at the University of Maine. For several years, Mark worked for Wallace Dunham, dean of the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture and director of the Maine Agricultural and Forest Experiment Station. During those years, Mark was associate director for Administration and later added the role of academic program coordinator for the Natural Resources program, now called the Ecology and Environmental Sciences program (EES).

In 2005, Wallace C. Dunham, recognizing how important the EES program was to Mark, decided to establish the Wallace C. and Janet S. Dunham Ecology and Environmental Sciences Scholarship in the University of Maine Foundation in appreciation of Mark’s dedication and service.

“As a teacher, I know first hand what good the money does for students. My wife Lorraine and I considered starting our own fund, but didn’t feel that we needed to do so because the Wallace C. and Janet S. Dunham Ecology and Environmental fund is all about what we are interested in supporting as a couple. We both care deeply about the program and its students and are very thankful to the Dunhams for their decision to establish this scholarship.”
